The Samson Carbon 61 is a 61-key USB MIDI controller featuring a semi-weighted keyboard, and housed in a compact, lightweight form. The keys are velocity sensitive, and dedicated transpose and octave buttons extend the keyboard's range. Individual modulation and pitch wheels, along with an assignable data encoder and a volume slider, allow for a wide range of musical expression and tone manipulation.
An edit key allows up to fourteen performance-related control parameters to be adjusted, while a 3-digit, 7-segment LED displays the behavior of every function in real-time. Additionally, the keyboard includes a regular MIDI out connector, a sustain pedal input, and USB connections. An integrated iPad slot which, when combined with an optional iPad and Apple's iPad Camera Connection Kit, makes the keyboard an excellent solution for portable music making. In this scenario the Carbon 61 can be powered by the iPad.
Bundled with the keyboard is Native Instruments' KOMPLETE ELEMENTS software, offering a comprehensive selection of sounds, effects and tools for modern music production, composition and sound design. With over 3GB of samples, the software provides more than 1,000 sounds and three player engines.
