u-he Diva is widely regarded as one of the most convincing analog synthesizer emulations ever released in software, and it earned that reputation the hard way: by modeling the actual circuits of legendary hardware instead of approximating their sound. The name stands for Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue, and the approach is modular in the best sense. You can combine an oscillator section modeled on one classic instrument with a filter borrowed from another and an envelope from a third, building hybrid instruments that never existed in hardware while every component behaves with genuine analog character.

Diva's module library draws on the most important analog synthesizers in history, with oscillator sections modeled on classic American monosynth and polysynth designs, filters modeled on ladder, cascade, multimode, and bite-heavy semi-modular circuits, and envelopes with distinct analog response curves. The zero-delay feedback filter implementation is the technical heart of the instrument, reproducing the self-oscillation, resonance behavior, and nonlinear saturation that make hardware filters sing. Diva is deliberately CPU-intensive in its highest quality modes because it refuses to cut corners, though multiple quality settings let you track and arrange at lower cost and render at full fidelity. Effects, a flexible modulation section, and a deep factory preset library round out the instrument.
